Our Dancers Kept On Dancing

With the Prime Minister urging people to stay at home to prevent the spread of the disease, idodance classes were postponed from the 18th of March 2020.

Nobody from our last class that evening wanted to leave! We were aware that there was something out there that posed a threat to life as we knew it. Feelings of dread and unease crept in and, as we said our farewells, we hugged each other as if we’d never hug again! Nearly 2 years on, we still have our safety measures in place and hugs are still on hold!

It soon became apparent that our Summer Term would not go ahead. Lee and I set up WhatsApp groups for all our classes to encourage members to stay in touch. We recorded teaching videos to post. We asked Pupils to watch, learn and practice then, if they felt confident, to video themselves dancing the new figures we gave them.

We were touched and impressed with their footage, so put the dancers clips together to show that, when the pandemic brought the world to a halt – our Dancers danced on through! 💖
