On the 4th of April 2009 idodance celebrated its 1st Birthday.

It has been an amazing journey and an overwhelming success in its first year.  Going from three dance classes one night a week with just 20 students, to 10 dance classes four nights a week with over 200 students!

Lee and I, Kathy and Mike all have full time jobs and every spare moment is devoted to teaching, paperwork or preparation related to idodance.  It has changed our lives.  It has taken over our lives!  We live, breath and sleep idodance!  It's a pleasure to be able to share our love of dance with so many.

We have taken all your comments from the feedback forms into consideration.  You said you wanted the opportunity to practice what you learn at class and would like to meet pupils from other dance classes to see other styles of dance.  We now hold monthly Dance Practice Sessions and Tea Dances.  These have been well supported and enjoyed.

Our first Social Dance was a 'Red & Black Themed Night'.  It was fantastic to see the hall decorated in red & black and all the dancers in the School's colours.  Due to its success we organised a Halloween Dance.  Again, pupils exceeded our expectations by arriving in amazing fancy dress costumes.

Our Christmas Dance brought pupils together in all their finery.  Arriving to a glass of champagne, the evening continued to sparkle!  Dancing to Christmas songs the atmosphere was full of the festive spirit.  The most special moment for us was at the end of the evening, when everyone spontaneously linked arms and swayed in unison to the last song of the night: Christmas Is.  It was an emotional end to a wonderful evening.

It's not just about having fun.  On a serious note we have achieved outstanding results from our Medal Assessments during the year.  All pupils have been awarded Highly Commended and above.  From the grades awarded, idodance can boast 34 Honours and 12 Distinctions.  We are very proud of all our Medallists.
